Part 4:
Of Karma and Rebirth

"Where Do I Come From? Where Am I Going?

While the past is gone from us, we need to be sure about our destination in our upcoming lifetime.

And that is the Pure Land. The Western Pure Land."

"Yesterday, I interviewed a cow from our neighboring farmland. He was once a rich and successful businessman!"

--- Practitioner Su, 2025.9.8, afternoon lecturing session

At Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, it is common for Practitioner Su, along with several monks, nuns, and lay practitioners, to communicate with the spiritual world—including the spirits of animals and those residing within everyday objects, such as the soul within an apple.

Most importantly, our spiritual communication is primarily with all Buddhas—especially Namo Amituofo—as well as with beings across all six realms.

While this spirit-to-spirit communication may sound both wondrous and strange, we will explore it further in the chapters to come. In essence, it arises from the cultivation of purity and kindness.

The next question is, why does a wealthy and successful man become a cow in his next life?
The next question is, why does a wealthy and successful man become a cow in his next life?

After detailed interviews conducted by Practitioner Su, we came to understand that this cow was once a successful businessman who frequently exploited the business world and gained unlawful benefits through his work.

As a result of his actions in his previous life, his soul now resides in the body of a cow to repay karmic debts!

Lifetime after lifetime, he remains a cow.

To our shock, he has already lived as a cow for many lifetimes, yet still has not fully repaid his karmic debts.

This is a story of how karma unfolds in a single spirit, across time and space.

Just like what Practitioner Su said all the time:

"

You have only one spirit—eternal, indivisible, and journeying through countless lifetimes.

Bodies may change, names may shift, but the spirit remains, carrying the imprints of karma, the seeds of wisdom, and the potential for awakening.

If you focus only on caring for your physical body without elevating your spiritual nature,

then you will remain trapped in the cycle of rebirth within the six realms, endlessly.
