The Practising Journey:
From Taiwan to Australia

To share and spread Buddhist teachings, Lay Practitioner Su generously shares her knowledge with others. She even provides food and accommodation for those who come to learn at her home. She established a small Buddha Hall for group practice, with fairness and an open heart, she freely shares her wisdom with all, hoping that everyone can achieve the awakening she has experienced, recognising the Buddha Nature hidden within themselves, while she remains ever so humble.

With unwavering devotion to Pure Land Buddhism, she dedicates herself entirely to "The Infinite Life Sutra" The forty-eight great vows of Amitabha Buddha, as described in this sutra, can be truly fulfilled through the purification of the mind.

In Australia, fellow practitioners walked the spiritual path together, supporting Buddhist teachings by purchasing 400 acres of land to construct a chanting hall. They named it the "Australia Hsiang Kuang Buddha Chanting Hall," while the home centre in Taiwan was called the "Hsiang Kuang Room."

The group practice experienced a steady stream of participants.

The profound teachings and the joy of Dharma not only helped them focus their minds but also brought understanding and peace to many troubled practitioners. As she could understand people’s emotions and thoughts—reading the minds of everyone present—she could share the teachings with everyone who joined, allowing everyone to benefit equally.

Daily lecturing

Lay practitioner Su holds teaching sessions from Monday to Thursday, regularly lecturing for an impressive 9.5 hours a day!

Life at the Australian centre was filled with teaching sessions, prostration practices, and sutra chanting. Even as lay practitioners, their commitment to the practice was as devoted as that of monastics. Waking up early for morning practice, around 50 to 60 individuals live and practise together with dedication, striving for self-purification. Through their devoted practice, they received profound spiritual blessings, attracted guardian spirits, and witnessed rare phenomena rarely seen today.

After each teaching session, Practitioner Su personally prepared vegetarian meals to ensure everyone was well cared for. Many practitioners stayed at the centre, while others joined on weekends, forming a closely knitted community.

The Australian Centre became a sanctuary for those seeking to purify their minds, reconnect with their true selves, and escape the chaos of daily life. She wholeheartedly dedicated herself to organising and leading intensive meditation retreats in Australia.

Such deep purification and mind cultivation are rare in today's era of spiritual decline. Yet, through the teachings of Lay Practitioner Su, many practitioners have rediscovered their innate potential—a testament to the fact that such profound experiences are truly attainable.

This awakening is more than just personal growth—it is a reconnection with the vast spiritual abilities inherent in all sentient beings. As practitioners refine their minds and elevate their awareness, they move beyond ordinary limitations, unlocking extraordinary insights.

From perceiving unseen realms to resolving karmic debts and guiding wandering spirits towards higher existence, their journey exemplifies the boundless possibilities of spiritual cultivation.
