A bold leap: turning business into Dharma
To practice Buddhist teaching, this strong-willed lady abruptly closed her jewellery business. Most people laughed at her, but her commitment to pursuing Buddhist teaching remained unshaken.
Once a passionate food lover who travelled the world in search of exquisite cuisine, she encountered an unexpected turning point -- Moved by her innate compassion, she chose to give up meat entirely, embracing vegetarianism as a way of life.
For years, she devoted herself to practising and serving at Pure Land Buddhist centres, never seeking fame nor profit. She donated all her wealth, sold her best properties, leaving nothing for herself, and worked without expecting anything in return.
With a refined sense of taste and skill in cooking, she prepared delicious vegetarian meals at various Buddhist centres, connecting with people through her culinary efforts. She took on tasks that others avoided and never complained.
She learned to quiet her thoughts, realising that her strong-willed nature could sometimes be a challenge in practice. Understanding that spiritual growth requires patience and gentleness, she disciplined herself by holding back all negativity coming from her actions, words, and inner thoughts—choosing to let go of wandering thoughts completely and remain in a state of no-mind.
Through dedicated practice, she attained true freedom and clarity of the mind, gaining profound insight into her nature. She reached a state where everything became clear to her, and nothing was beyond her understanding or ability.
Her vision expanded beyond the ordinary, allowing her to perceive unseen spiritual realms, where she witnessed the immense suffering of wandering spirits with no one to rescue them. She also deeply understood the suffering that arises from life’s uncertainties—aging, sickness, and death.

With this realisation, she vowed to dedicate her life to Pure Land practice, guiding others in reciting 'Namo Amituofo' to attain rebirth in the Pure Land. For those who commit wholeheartedly, the attainment of Buddhahood is truly possible within a single lifetime.
In the end, she realise her true nature—her Buddha Nature! With unwavering faith in the Western Pure Land, she realised and affirmed its profound truth.
Even though she was unable to read extensively, she listened attentively to her master's teachings, with unwavering obedience, patience and grasping every word with clarity. Her trust in her master's guidance was absolute, and she followed every step with steady determination. Today, she teaches various Buddhist sutras with remarkable ease and flow.
