The humble beginnings

"Through trials and turns, the journey west,

The Pure Land shines, a place of rest.

With Amituofo, the hall now filled,

Peaceful hearts, their vow fulfilled."

It all started with a small and unremarkable gathering where people came together to recite the Buddha's name, discuss Buddhist teachings, recite sutras, or practice walking meditation - essentially, a group of likeminded individuals practising Buddhist education together.

Lay Practitioner Su guides walking meditation, bringing the name of ‘Namo Amituofo’ to all beings across multiple dimensions.

The leader was a remarkable woman - although officially just a lay practitioner, she carried herself like a dedicated nun. She practised diligently, followed her master’s (Venerable Master Chin Kung) teachings faithfully, with devotion and unwavering in everything she did.

Coming from an ordinary background, her strong willpower led her to establish the "QianYi Jewellery Shop." As the wealthy owner of the shop, she earned millions of dollars each month. However, she set everything aside to follow Buddha's path after encountering Buddhist teachings.

Her surname is Su, and everyone respectfully called her "Sister Su" (later, some people called her "Grandma Su"). Today, she is commonly known as Lay practitioner Su.

Lively, energetic and vibrant as always.

When she began practising Buddhist teachings, she chose to dedicate herself to the Buddhist teachings under her master’s teachings and the great vow to save all beings.

Years later, her family and children benefited immensely from her spiritual journey—not only finding inspiration and guidance but also discovering the path to understanding the ultimate truth : the way to liberation from suffering and the attainment of Buddhahood.
