Part 3:
Pure Land Teachings
in an Age of Buddhist Decline

In my later years, I lived in Beijing and passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-two. When my time came, I chant the name of 'Namo Amituofo'' in a steady voice, without illness or suffering. With great compassion, Amitabha Buddha came with a golden lotus to guide me to the Western Pure Land.

As the founder of the Beijing Pure Land Association, I, along with Huang Nianzu and my grandson Xia Fasheng, have dedicated our efforts to guiding Pure Land practitioners and promoting its teachings.

Today, In the Western Pure Land, I clearly see the suffering and struggles in the human’s world and the restless minds of people. The Pure Land stands as a place of refuge, offering both spiritual and physical solace.

Although many follow the Pure Land path and recite 'Namo Amituofo,' few attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land. Some who sincerely chant still face obstacles that prevent them from fulfilling this aspiration. This is the reality of beings in a time of Buddhist decline—truly regrettable.

Amidst the chaos of this world, a guiding light emerges—Lay Buddhist Su awakens to her true nature, becoming a bridge between sentient beings and the Western Pure Land. Her awakening helps others uncover their own virtues and blessings, clearing obstacles on their path.

Through her guidance, they break free from suffering, fulfil their aspiration for rebirth in the Pure Land, and continue their journey toward higher realms, spreading Buddhist teaching far and wide.

In this age of Buddhist decline, the Western Pure Land and Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre remain seamlessly connected. This is the result of Lay Buddhist Su’s unwavering path—guiding sentient beings toward the Western Dharma Land and ultimately the Western Pure Land, revealing teachings once unknown or rarely spoken of.

With a finite human body, she has attained infinite spiritual realisation, commonly known as Buddhahood. Walking the difficult path, she accomplishes what few can, never ceasing in her mission to help others.
