Part 3:
Why becoming a Buddha?
It is common among Buddhist practitioners to ask themselves:
Why become a Buddha when I am happy as a human?
Well, to answer this question, Practitioner Su has given us a short and solid answer:
"
This is because,
all beings have wandered through countless ages of rebirth -- we cannot decide our own fate after death, life after life.
(Now, that is uncertainties, along with the immense sufferings that come with it)
Buddhist Education teaches us the universal principles, the ultimate truth, and the right path.
With the right education and understanding, one is able to be free from aging and illness, to have an undying spirit—this is the state of no sickness & suffering.

And, it is possible to move to the Western Pure Land (spiritually) after passing, to a Pure Land where one would never suffer as a spirit, enjoy true & lasting happiness, while purifying oneself to become a Buddha one day! (A land of promised Buddhahood, created by the immense compassion and vows of Amituofo)
Amituofo is my teacher who teaches me to become a follower of the universal principles, the truth, and the righteous path.
"
--- a short talk by Practitioner Su, 2025.9.8
Because of her deep spiritual practice, Practitioner Su is free from suffering.
At 82 years old, she is the happiest people on Earth—her physical, mental, and spiritual strength is even greater than that of a healthy 30-year-old man!
While Universal principles, the ultimate truth, and the right path sounds like some big words, the underlying principle is very simple:
“Think good thoughts, speak good words, do good deeds, and be a good person.”
(存好心,說好話,行好事,做好人)

The essence of Buddhism (or the practice of Buddhism) is to avoid all that is evil, to embrace all that is good, and to purify one's mind.
(諸惡莫作,眾善奉行,自淨其意,是諸佛教)
