Part 2:
'I am a Buddha!'
---- Lay Practitioner Xia: I am a Buddha (2025/4/13)
Let us reflect on the moment when the Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, attained enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree over 2,500 years ago.
The Buddha entered a state of profound concentration—so deep, pure and clear that the true nature of his own mind, and the vast workings of the universe, were revealed to him.

As we mentioned earlier, his first expression after his enlightenment goes like:
”All beings possess the wisdom and virtues of the Buddha. But because of deluded thoughts and attachments, they cannot realise it.”
The Buddha awakened to one profound truth:
I am a Buddha.
You are a Buddha.
Everyone is a Buddha!
Everyone is inherently a Buddha!
Wow, isn't that the most amazing thing ever?
Messages from Practitioner Su:
Human beings need education—especially moral and spiritual education.
We must learn the universal principles, the truth, and the right path.
Those who live in harmony with these cosmic laws can transcend aging and illness—their spirit never dies.
Humanity is one. Whether white, black, or yellow in appearance, we are all part of the same whole.

The differences we see are simply the result of different education and life experiences.
The most important teaching in Buddhism is the view of Oneness—no superiority, no inferiority, no discrimination.
At our centre and in the Pure Land tradition, the sacred text the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks of the Infinite Life Sutra of Adornment, Purity, Equality and Enlightenment) is our most important guide on the path to Buddhahood.
When we follow the teachings with sincerity, we come to understand that human life is equal. It is possible to live free from aging and illness, and remain spiritually alive—forever—so long as we live in accordance with the Buddha’s teachings as revealed in this sacred sutra.
Just like the Buddha, you too can awaken to your true nature.
You can come to know everything in the universe.
You can discover the path to end suffering in this very life—and help others do the same.
There will be no aging, no illness, and the spirit will never die.
