What is the one truth that remains constant throughout the ages, from the ancient past to the present day? It is the vow and the practice of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to save the world and liberate beings. This compassionate heart has never diminished, not even for a single moment. Their mission is to save beings and help them leave suffering behind, and to guide them to walk upon the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
Through the practice of Faith, Vows, and Practice in the path, we are encouraged to make a sincere vow to end the cycle of reincarnation. By chanting the name of , we can be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Ultimately, this path leads us to realise our true self, granting us over life and death.
Every single being possesses an original nature, a true self that exists eternally. This fact has remained unchanged throughout the vast expanse of time. Even as we change our physical forms, and even as we wander endlessly through the cycle of rebirth in this world or in other realms, this true essence never disappears. It remains intact through thousands, millions, and even billions of years.
The Three Learnings of , Samadhi, and Wisdom are the pillars of our spiritual progress. Among these, Discipline is the foundation. It is the primary reason one can achieve success in both meditative concentration and wisdom. This principle is as true today as it was in the ancient past. It is a constant that remains identical across all time, spanning millions of years.
If you look up at the sky, you see the same blue heavens, the same sun, moon, and stars that have shone upon the world for aeons. We have witnessed countless stars fall and be reborn, and we have seen the bitterness, the successes, and the failures of countless beings within this cosmic dance. Just as the stars must follow their natural orbits for the universe to function, so too must we align ourselves with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way to find our place in the cosmos.
The spiritual nature of every being is unborn and undying. Regardless of the space or the realm in which you find yourself, and regardless of how many times you have changed your physical appearance through the cycle of rebirth, your spirit remains the same. It is the one constant that has experienced countless aeons of time. It is the one true spirit that never changes.
Today, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, we are blessed to have the presence of the Buddha and Practitioner Su. They walk alongside all disciples, offering support and encouragement in our daily practice. You must be diligent in your efforts to move forward. You must overcome the demonic obstacles and work toward the achievement of . By doing so, you will enter the path of saving the world and liberating beings, and you will participate in the noble work of propagating the .
