Lay practitioner Jiang Peng Ji-Mei:
. I, Jiang Peng Ji-Mei, have officially reported to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, and I have truly arrived at Your Buddha-land — the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I also wish to report this good news to all my family members in the human world, so that they may at least feel some peace of mind, knowing that I am doing very well now. Of course, my life now is far better than theirs.
The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and the human world are two completely different worlds. People in the human world all have many thoughts, afflictions, and worries in their hearts; some may look happy, but they are not necessarily truly happy. However, it is not so in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss; this is a world where all the superior beings gather in one place. Therefore, everyone here is very kind, with no evil thoughts. We all see the good in each other and do not have many distracting thoughts; we simply focus on practice, chanting Buddha's name, and making prostrations here, living peaceful and harmonious lives.
Regarding everything in the human world, looking back now, it truly makes me shudder! In all the years I spent in the human world, I never really lived a good life; it was truly suffering beyond words. Everyone is the same; birth, aging, sickness, and death are inherently suffering. It is just that many people are obsessed with them, thinking these are happiness, and cling tightly to this body. Of course, I was once like that too; everyone fears death and worries about the day they must leave.
Birth, aging, sickness, and death are inevitable. Although I lived a relatively long life, reaching eighty-eight years old, after my body weakened and I fell ill, my body could no longer bear it, and I left the human world. I just did not expect that ten years after leaving the human world, I would still have the opportunity for rebirth.
For these ten years, I was a lonely spirit in the ghost realm, with no fixed place to stay. I drifted everywhere, feeling very helpless. My surroundings were very dark, and my heart was always heavy, yet I was speechless. That is what it is like to be a ghost. I thought I would remain a ghost for a long time, because I heard from the beings in the ghost realm that it seems one must remain a ghost for hundreds or even thousands of years before having the chance to be reborn. So I thought I would just stay here, waiting for the day of rebirth.
I did not expect that after ten years, I would encounter the Buddha. A ray of Buddha-light shone upon me, calling my name, Jiang Peng Ji-Mei, and my heart was startled. Seeing that the Buddha-light was so warm, I thought this must be a good place, so I was guided to the Western Land of Nature. It was here that I truly came to know the Buddha’s teachings, and came to know Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. I was very moved, and I knew that only by knowing the Buddha could my life have a chance of salvation. I dared not have too many thoughts; I have already cherished this good Causal Condition very much.
I also wish to counsel all my family members and descendants: as you live your lives in the human world, you must never forget that there is still the path of the Buddha to follow. Although you may be living well or not so well, it does not matter. If you are living well, of course, I hope even more that you can learn the Buddha’s teachings; only by learning the Buddha’s teachings can you find true goodness, rather than temporary goodness. Temporary goodness will eventually be lost, and there will be a day of departure. If you can find this long-term direction, you will surely be able to live a better life.
I sincerely wish everyone well here, and I hope that you can get to know the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia sooner, and get to know the true Buddhist education here. It can bring you growth in your spirits, as well as experiences different from the past. Do not live for the sake of pursuing things for this body anymore; all of this is truly meaningless. Being able to learn the Buddha’s teachings is such a wonderful thing!
Gratitude to the of Namo Amituofo, and gratitude to the compassion of Practitioner Su.
