Lay Practitioner Pei Yang-Shi:
Gratitude to and Practitioner Su. Today, I am fortunate to have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss; this is such a precious matter.
I used to think that death was the end of everything, not knowing that there are so many complex spaces after death, waiting for us beings to suffer. Now, in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I see many people suffering in the hells, or suffering in various spaces, being guided by Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss or the Western Land of Nature.
I am one of the lucky ones, as a descendant still remembered me. He registered many of our elders for the Dharma assembly, allowing us to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Gratitude to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, and also to my good daughter-in-law. All these changes have come so quickly and are truly inconceivable.
I just mentioned that I thought death was the end, which is why I chose to end my life. I thought all suffering could be resolved through death. But I did not know that what awaited me was a long period of suffering. For forty-something years, I was trapped in the space where I died, repeatedly dying and being reborn, reborn and dying.
At that time, I wanted to escape, filled with regret, but it was already too late. Even with regret, not wanting to remain trapped in that space, I could only struggle bitterly, completely unable to leave.
Human life is truly fragile. I counsel all those who still possess a human body and a clear mind, that while living in the human world, you must cherish this body. The human body can be used to become a Buddha, or it can lead to the hells; the difference between these is truly vast.
Practitioner Su is now eighty-three years old, yet he still gives lectures, presides over Dharma assemblies, and carries so many important responsibilities alone; this is something none of us can compare to. This is the nature of someone who truly has a broad mind-capacity, possesses a heart of , and is single-mindedly dedicated to saving beings; naturally, one can have such energy.
I stayed in the Western Land of Dharma Nature for a few weeks, and I could see many things in the human world very clearly; the realm of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is even more magnificent. Today, having arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, we are all happily making prostrations to the Buddha without ceasing. We know this is the destination for our spirits, and we no longer need to wander. We will practise here with peace of mind and continue to grow and elevate. I hope that in the future, I can help more people; of course, this is a distant goal. I must first cultivate myself well and achieve success before talking about helping others.
Regardless, I still want to tell my family members that I hope you all understand the principle of impermanence in human life. If you have the opportunity to learn the Buddha’s teachings, you must persist on this path; there is truly no other path to take in the human world. Aside from birth, aging, sickness, and death, it is still birth, aging, sickness, and death. Only learning the Buddha’s teachings can help everyone break through the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death.
Taking me as an example, because my relatives learned the Buddha’s teachings—specifically the Buddha’s teachings from the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia—we elders had such good to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. As far as I know, he has registered more than ten relatives for Chao Du; the merit is immeasurable, which shows that this child’s filial piety is commendable.
When I ended my life and left the world in that manner, I want to say sorry to my family. If time could be turned back, I would never choose that wrong path.
However, at that time, I was being controlled to a very severe degree, and I did not know what I would do to end my life. Perhaps for the me at that time, I thought it was the best solution. I did not study the Buddhist education back then and did not know that the human body is precious and hard to obtain; to waste this limited human body in such a way is truly a great pity.
Now, saying more is of no use. It is better to recite the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo" to the end in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I counsel everyone that no matter how many interview transcripts you have read, nothing is as solid as the Holy Name "Namo Amituofo". It is this Buddha-name "Namo Amituofo" that can truly lead everyone to end the cycle of birth and death and transcend the three realms.
Well, I will stop here for today. I hope everyone will take my life as a lesson and not follow my old path.
When being a person, one must not be selfish; one must think for others and learn from the spirit of Practitioner Su. Now that there is such a good example for everyone to refer to and learn from, you must cherish this rare and magnificent Causal Condition.
Gratitude to the compassion of Namo Amituofo, and gratitude to the compassion of Practitioner Su.
