: "Ci" (kindness) is to bestow happiness upon others. "Min" (pity) is to relieve suffering.
A compassionate heart is one that, upon seeing others suffer, naturally arises to help them leave suffering behind.
Those who save beings are those with a compassionate heart.
Where does compassion come from? It comes from the true heart, from a heart without attachment, from an empty heart.
If there is attachment, the compassionate heart becomes polluted and is no longer the true heart.
From the perspective of the world, one thinks of keeping something for oneself;
however, in the that appears in the world,
if others are in need and one can relieve their suffering, one gives without hesitation,
never holding back.
Amitabha Buddha’s great compassionate heart, the heart to save countless suffering beings, is without beginning or end,
and without limit.
The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss was established to lead sentient beings in the ten directions and the Dharma realms
into the to attain Buddhahood; it is the Buddha-land of the One Vehicle.
Those with a compassionate heart would rather forgo their own needs to give everything to others,
to bestow happiness upon them or relieve their suffering.
The saying "helping others is the foundation of happiness" is true; in fact, the one who benefits the most is oneself,
because through this compassionate heart, one simultaneously resolves the conflicts with who originally intended to collect karmic debts.
Those with a compassionate heart wish to perfect themselves and save countless suffering beings.
The immeasurable and boundless cells and beings within their body,
are the parents, teachers, karmic creditors, family members, and all
sentient beings with karmic affinity from accumulated lifetimes; they are the first to be saved.
By keeping this heart pure and good at all times, one helps the beings within one's body possess a pure and good heart,
and this is also teaching the beings, giving them the opportunity for and to realise their true nature and attain Buddhahood.
