A Grandmother's Message from the Western Pure Land

This is a record of an interview with Huang Jincai, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the cycle of rebirth to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on July 23, 2021.

Huang Jincai speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Huang Jincai. Looking back at my life, there is truly nothing left that I wish to dwell upon. My only desire now is to leave a few words for my granddaughter, Xiaoqing.

I am fully aware that it was my granddaughter who placed her faith in Practitioner Su and believed that Namo Amituofo truly abides at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. It was because of her faith that she brought me here for deliverance. For a long time, I was lost, but now I have awakened, and my heart is set firmly on rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."

A Grandmother's Comfort

"My dear child, do not take the harsh words spoken by your husband's family to heart. You must trust in your own heart. Your grandmother knows how much you have suffered and how hard you have worked. Do not be sad; what you are doing is right. You have done the right thing by seeking the Dharma.

During these past days, I have been pulled out from a state of utter darkness. This place has brought me such warmth—a warmth I never knew existed. I never imagined there could be such a place that could guide the deceased to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Every day, I listen to the sutras and chant Namo Amituofo. I did not understand these things before, but the power of Namo Amituofo has been helping me to clear my mind. Only through His grace have I come to understand the truth of the Buddha's teachings."

The Grace of Practitioner Su

"Practitioner Su is truly our saviour. Here, Practitioner Su has helped us so much. I know your mother is not yet ready to follow this path, but do not worry, child. She, too, will eventually reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Everything has its own timing and Causal Conditions.

My dear child, you must set your mind at ease. There is still so much potential within you to be realised in this world. Do not let yourself be confined or defeated by your current difficulties. These trials are merely tests of your character. This family you have married into is part of your own karmic conditions, and you must use your heart to resolve these matters. You must study the Buddha's teachings diligently and follow the wisdom shared by Practitioner Su. Do not let these worldly trials influence your spirit; this path of practice must not be interrupted."

A Reunion in the West

"Your grandmother will be waiting for you in the Western Pure Land. In time, your mother and the others will all come here as well. Child, you are not alone. Please, persist on this path of learning the Buddha's teachings. Our true home is in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

I am deeply grateful to Practitioner Su. My granddaughter has a very kind and pure heart. I truly hope that she can remain here, practise diligently with Namo Amituofo, and let her heart suffer no more. Namo Amituofo."
