This world is a realm of constant flux, where impermanence reigns supreme. We often find ourselves lost in the shifting tides of change, unable to find our footing. For the dedicated practitioner, the cultivation of meditative concentration is an essential task, a cornerstone upon which all spiritual progress is built. When your heart possesses true meditative concentration, it remains unmoved by the turbulent waves of external circumstances. You will be able to see the truth of reality clearly, without being swayed by the myriad changes that occur around you.
Furthermore, you must not be led astray by the Five Aggregates that constitute our physical and mental existence:
Only when you are no longer pulled by these forces can you make genuine progress in your practice and realise the possibility of .
Those who take on the responsibility of teaching and saving beings must first possess the fundamental skill of an unmoved mind. As the environment changes, many beings find themselves unable to maintain control over their own lives. Their manifests, their hearts shift, and they are overwhelmed by the resulting problems. In such times, one must develop the capacity to adapt. As the saying goes, if the mountain does not turn, the road will turn; if the road does not turn, the person must turn.
This is the method of flexibility. While the underlying principles of the Truth remain constant, the way we handle affairs can and should be adjusted. This is how one conducts oneself, teaches others, and responds to crises while living in this Five Turbidities and Evil World.
As time flows forward and our circumstances in space change, there are many paths that lead to the destination of Awakening. However, among all these paths, the way of the is the most rapid and convenient. It allows the practitioner to arrive at the destination of Awakening much sooner than any other method. This is because the Pure Land path is a dual-power method. Beyond your own , you gain the immense support of the Buddha.
Whether you are navigating a difficult road or adjusting your own approach, you are never alone. Because you can receive the of , you are able to reach the destination of Awakening with great speed. The Buddha’s blessings are not separate from your own diligent practice; they are integrated into your daily efforts.
You must understand when the Buddha’s blessings are most active in your life. They are present during your daily lessons:
When your Faith, Vows, and Practice are in perfect harmony with the Buddha, you are truly receiving His blessings. This means your faith is the same as the Buddha’s faith, your vows are the same as the Buddha’s vows, and your practice is the same as the Buddha’s practice. You must ensure that in every action—whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down—you never depart from the Buddha. If you truly believe in the Buddha, then 24/7, your heart will hold the Buddha, your actions will reflect the Buddha, and your vows will be directed toward the Buddha. Through continuous purification and the constant cultivation of Goodness, you will surely reach the moment of Awakening. Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
