Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, recorded and transcribed by ’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
The term 'Supreme' signifies a state beyond which there is nothing higher. When we speak of the 'Supreme Path,' we are referring to the ultimate journey of Buddhist practice. To study the Buddha's teachings and engage in practice is to strive for this Supreme Path, which is, in essence, the attainment of Buddhahood itself.
In this current age of the ’s decline, we are fortunate to have access to the 'Supreme Dharma Gate.' This is the Dharma Gate, which relies on the dual power of self-effort and the Buddha's power. By harmonising these two forces, we create the conditions necessary for true spiritual transformation.
How does one engage this dual power? It is through a dedicated commitment to your daily practice:
Through these methods, you achieve purification and meditative concentration. As your mind settles, the Buddha's permeate your being. It is only through this combination of your own diligent practice and the external support of the Buddha that you have the opportunity to realise your true nature and attain Buddhahood. This is why the Pure Land Dharma Gate is rightfully called the Supreme Dharma Gate.
Namo Amituofo has established the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, having already attained the Supreme Path. His Dharma affinity pervades the entire Dharma Realm and empty space, reaching out to all beings without boundary or limitation. He has made the Forty-eight Great Vows specifically to lead and save all beings, guiding them into the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The power of these Forty-eight Great Vows, along with the power of merit and the majestic power of Namo Amituofo, are all contained within the sacred Buddha-name. Everything is encompassed within this Supreme Dharma Gate. This practice is designed to help you leave suffering behind and gain happiness, ensuring you are never again trapped in the cycle of rebirth. By dwelling in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, surrounded by Infinite Life and Infinite Light, you will eventually enter the Land of Eternally Quiescent Light and successfully attain Buddhahood.
At this moment, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre serves as a place where Namo Amituofo truly abides. Under the guidance of Namo Amituofo, our Teacher, and Practitioner Su, we are walking the Supreme Path of the Pure Land. By following this guidance, you will surely attain Buddhahood.
The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre acts as a beacon for the entire Dharma Realm. It is a precious land dedicated to saving endless suffering beings, providing a sanctuary for their liberation, helping them leave suffering behind, and facilitating their rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
