The light emitted from our physical form is known as body light. This radiance is not merely a visual phenomenon; it is a profound indicator of the energy, quality, and state of our spirit. The strength of this energy directly determines the brilliance of the light we emit.
When we observe the quality of light across different realms, we see a clear hierarchy of spiritual purity. The golden light of Namo Amituofo, representing the highest quality of the true golden body, is the most brilliant of all. In the various realms of existence, the colour of this light shifts according to the state of the being:
For a practitioner, the presence of a bright, clear light is a natural response to a life of selfless, upright practice. When you walk the path without selfishness or deceit, your body naturally carries this radiance. Spirit realm beings who encounter such a practitioner will naturally feel a sense of respect. This light is generated from within, driven by the spirit, and emanates through every cell and pore of . It serves as a living reflection of the current state of your Body-Mind-Spirit.
For those who have cultivated true virtue, this light forms a protective layer around the body. This barrier acts as a shield, preventing external spirits from entering or interfering with one's physical form. However, if your heart and character become biased, or if you harbour anger, selfishness, or impure intentions, the quality of your body light will inevitably diminish. When the light fades, it becomes easy for external spirits or even demon crowds to enter the body. This is not a punishment, but a natural consequence of the state of one's own heart.
Those who have realised their true nature possess a Body-Mind-Spirit that is luminous and free from all defilement. Their inner light shines forth with brilliant clarity. Such a practitioner is deeply respected and revered by beings in the human and heavenly realms, and even by the demon crowds. To maintain this state, one must remain steadfast in their practice, ensuring that every thought and action aligns with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. By doing so, you ensure that your light remains bright, protecting your path as you journey toward the of Ultimate Bliss.
