Nature-virtue is the inherent virtue and ability that resides within our true self. It is not something that must be acquired from the outside; rather, it is a quality that naturally manifests when the obstructions of the mind are cleared. Every single being possesses this true self, which is the source of all potential and goodness. Within this true self, there exists an infinite abundance of qualities that are waiting to be revealed.
These qualities include:
These virtues and abilities are clearly visible in those who have realised their true nature. They do not need to force their actions, for their conduct is a natural expression of their inner state.
For the average practitioner, the journey begins with the steady improvement of one's spiritual quality. As you continue to refine your practice, your body, mind, and spirit will begin to harmonise. When you reach a state where you are fully integrated and feel as one with all beings, you will realise your true nature. At this profound level of awakening, a deep and genuine compassion will arise within your heart spontaneously.
Once this compassion is awakened, you will no longer require any external person or object to remind or urge you to act. You will naturally engage in the work of saving the world and rescuing infinite suffering beings. This is the natural function of one who has returned to the source of their true self.
The power of the Buddha-name, , is truly inconceivable and beyond measure. This is because the name embodies the actualised achievements of the Forty-eight Great Vows of Namo Amituofo. Having realised Buddhahood, the infinite virtue and ability of his realisation are all contained within this single Buddha-name. Therefore, when you sincerely and single-mindedly hold onto the Buddha-name, you are able to receive magnificent and inconceivable energy, light, and that will guide you on your path.
Discipline is the fundamental basis of all spiritual practice. For those who have realised their true nature, maintaining discipline is a natural and effortless state of being. There is no concept of breaking the because those who have realised their true nature always act in accordance with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This alignment is not a struggle; it is simply the natural expression of the virtue inherent in their true self.
For those of us who are still on the path of practice, the cultivation of virtue and character is of the utmost importance. You must focus on these essential aspects of your growth:
By cultivating these qualities, you will naturally earn the respect of others, and you will create the necessary conditions for your own realisation of the true self. Nature-virtue is revealed through the cultivation of virtue, and it manifests naturally from within the true self. May you continue to practise with sincerity, allowing your inner nature to shine forth as you walk the path toward Buddhahood.
