The weekly group sessions held at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre every Thursday evening, from six o'clock until nine o'clock, are far more than a simple physical exercise. These sessions serve as a vital preparation for the that follows the next day. By engaging in this collective practice, you are actively preparing your body, heart, and spirit for the magnificent spiritual work that lies ahead.
When you perform these prostrations, you are not merely moving your physical form. You are creating an environment of profound purification that extends to the very cells of your body. Furthermore, this practice provides a unique opportunity for the , attached spirits, and even the beings from the demon realms who reside within you to receive the benefit of this purification. By cleansing your heart and spirit through these prostrations, you help to ensure that the upcoming Thrice Yearning Ceremony achieves the most optimal results for the benefit of both the living and the deceased.
It is important to understand what is meant by the term for the benefit of both the living and the deceased. The deceased, in this context, refers not only to those who have passed on and are participating in the ceremony from the spiritual realms, but also to the spirit realm beings who are currently attached to your own body. This includes your karmic creditors, attached spirits, and other beings who may be suffering in the lower realms. Through the collective power of our group practice, we hope that all participants may receive the illumination of the Buddha's light. As your heart and spirit are purified, the conditions for resolving past grievances and achieving spiritual Chao Du during the ceremony become significantly more effective.
Students of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are truly fortunate to receive this level of care and guidance. This is a manifestation of the compassionate vow of to save all beings. One might ask: how can those outside of this environment possibly encounter such a magnificent opportunity to receive the purification of the Buddha's light and the compassionate resolution and Chao Du offered by Namo Amituofo? You must cherish this rare chance. As you practise, you should cultivate a heart of deep gratitude. By doing so, you will naturally inspire the beings within your own body to also cultivate a heart of gratitude. When they are willing to accept this Chao Du, they will joyfully seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, thereby finding the path to leave suffering behind forever.
