During the , provided profound teachings on the nature of the human mind. Many of us wonder where our thoughts originate. In truth, they do not arise from nowhere; they stem from our inertia and deep-seated habits. This is not merely the result of one lifetime, but the accumulation of countless lifetimes. Consequently, we summon the beings with whom we have karmic affinities, them one by one to settle accounts, as they seek retribution for the suffering they endured at our hands in the past.
We must learn to cease these thoughts and not let them awaken. Once they are awakened, the suffering returns, as if we were back in that very moment of pain. Therefore, it is essential to practise and maintain thoughts of Goodness. Every thought that arises manifests into form. Where there is form, there are beings with karmic affinities; thus, follows us. If we harbour evil thoughts and resentment, the laws of karma and cause and effect will manifest the evil deeds of the past.
If we focus on Goodness rather than evil, this virtue will closely guard our body and keep us whole. Now, here at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, during this assembly, Namo Amituofo is before our eyes. I offer this counseling: seize the time to enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Chant the Buddha’s name and enter together into the golden light. This is the very moment; do not delay any longer.
By aligning ourselves with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, we can transcend the cycle of suffering. Let us commit to this practice with sincerity, ensuring that our every thought is guided by the light of the Dharma. May all beings find peace and liberation in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
