Practising Goodness
Consider where you would be today if you had not entered the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. If you had not encountered the compassionate light of Buddha and the guidance of Practitioner Su, and if you had not received the benefit of to save your , your life would likely be vastly different. Without this sanctuary, you might already be facing the harsh realities of the material world:
Without the refuge of the , these sufferings are not merely possibilities; they are the common fate of those who wander in the darkness of ignorance.
If you remain deeply entangled in the Five Desires and , you will find it nearly impossible to escape the cycle of suffering. When you are driven by the pursuit of wealth, fame, sensory pleasure, food, and sleep, you lose your way. You follow your impulses, yet you do not truly know who is in control. Ask yourself: Where is your true soul? Can your body truly be at peace when your heart is constantly agitated by external cravings? Are the words you speak and the actions you take truly your own, or are you merely a puppet of your past ?
If you are a practitioner, you must ask yourself if your soul is truly in charge. If you have not yet achieved a breakthrough in your diligent practice, if you have not yet changed your ways, and if you have not yet resolved the conflict of your karmic debts, how can you hope to reach the state of an awakened being? To reach this state, you must commit to the path of purification. You must resolve the conflict within your heart and cultivate pure Goodness. Without this, your practice remains superficial, and your true nature remains obscured by the shadows of your past actions.
There are many possibilities for your future, and each path leads to a different result. However, there is a common outcome for those who do not awaken: the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, death will continue to pull you back into the six realms of rebirth. You may be reborn into another life, but you will not know which realm you will enter. Will it be a realm of suffering or a realm of relative ease? You cannot know, and you cannot control it unless you take charge of your soul today. Do not let another moment pass in vain. Namo Amituofo.
