This is a record of an interview with Ma Yun, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This session was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable Shi Faxi, on March 11, 2018.
Ma Yun speaks:
". Seeing the speed at which you, Venerable, are able to travel in your spiritual practice truly startled me. The rapid progress you have made is genuinely beyond anything I could have imagined. Furthermore, during the process of Chao Du, your ability to arrange and guide me, along with so many other beings, is truly remarkable. It is not a simple task at all.
Every single day, I have the opportunity to meet with the disciples and listen to the Dharma talks. These moments are essential; they serve to deepen my own passion for the Buddha’s teachings and strengthen my aspirations. I am fully aware that my current level of aspiration is not yet sufficient, but my love and enthusiasm for the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are absolutely genuine.
I am currently adjusting myself every day, striving to recover more of my past. I intend to make great vows once again. I know that my own past was quite tragic, which is precisely why I ended up ruining such a promising future and finding myself in this miserable state. I am committed to repenting and changing my ways. The early morning hours of each day have become incredibly important to me for this reflection.
I am deeply grateful to you, Venerable, for your unwavering companionship and assistance. I know that I have a responsibility regarding the establishment of this temple. I will not let down your expectations, and I will certainly do my utmost. Namo Amituofo."
