The Original Radiance of All Beings

Namo Amituofo teaches us that every being in the universe possesses an original, shining, and bright true self. This nature is not limited to human beings alone; it encompasses all life and existence throughout the cosmos. This includes:

• The physical world—wishing to be as free as the wind, mountains & rivers, and every blade of grass or grain of sand.All creatures and living spirits.The beings within the six realms of existence and the four holy states.All inhabitants of this world and those in other galaxies, including extraterrestrial beings.

In this original state, all beings are perfectly equal. There is no hierarchy, no distinction between poverty and wealth, no difference in gender, and no separation between 'you,' 'me,' or 'them.' In this state of existence, there is only mutual respect and reverence. There is no greed, no coercion, and no harm. It is a world that is shared and owned by all as one unified whole.

The Creation of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss

The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is the manifestation of this perfect, unified state. It is a world of peace, sharing, and equality that Amitabha Buddha established over five kalpas, guided by the power of the Forty-eight Great Vows. It stands as a testament to what is possible when the true self is fully realised and when the environment is perfectly aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

The Descent into Confusion

Why, then, do we find ourselves in such a different reality today? It is because of a single moment of confusion. When this confusion arises, afflictions are born, and the heart begins to ripple with waves of disturbance. This leads to the formation of karma, which manifests as:

• Discriminations: The tendency to categorise and judge our experiences.Delusions: The false perceptions that cloud our understanding of reality.Attachment: The clinging to things that are ultimately impermanent.

As these internal states take hold, the vibration of our spirits changes, leading to the formation and transformation of the physical world. This is how the six realms of existence, various spaces, and diverse forms of life came to be. We have evolved into the complex ecosystems and planetary systems we see today. Consequently, this descent has brought forth endless suffering, pulling us further and further away from our pure, original state, leaving us trapped within the Five Turbidities and Evil World.

The Lesson of the Heart

We must remember that all beings are fundamentally one. After travelling through trillions of years of existence, we have finally been given the rare opportunity to hear and encounter this ultimate truth. If you truly wish to save all beings and help them leave suffering behind, you must understand that there is only one way forward.

You must take it step by step to remove the layers of confusion, afflictions, and personality-driven habits that cloud your spirit. By clearing away these impurities, you will gradually restore your original, pure nature and find your way back to your true self. This is the essential lesson of the heart that you must practise in this lifetime. Do not let this opportunity pass you by; commit yourself to the path of purification and return to the light of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
