Compassion and mind-capacity are the vital elements that no practitioner can lack if they wish to attain Buddhahood. They are not something that can be forced or manufactured through external effort; rather, they are innate, waiting to be uncovered like the sun emerging from behind the clouds.
In our current state, however, these precious qualities are often obscured. We find them buried deep beneath layers of our own making, unable to shine forth. They are hidden by our attachment to self-interest, our obsession with personal gain, and our rigid ego-attachment. They are further clouded by our subjective views and the constant cycle of delusions, discriminations, and attachments that define our worldly existence.
To reclaim this compassion and expand our mind-capacity, we must look to the natural state of our true self. This manifestation is not a distant goal but a way of living that reveals itself in our daily hearts and actions:
