The Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way possess their own inherent standards for progression. If one violates these fundamental laws, one will naturally be subject to the consequences dictated by the laws of and cause and effect. This is the true equality of life; every single being is treated with the same impartial justice. There is no favouritism in the workings of the universe, and every action carries its own weight and outcome.
Because of this, certain qualities are essential to our spiritual development. These natural, inherent virtues should be protected and allowed to shine forth in our daily lives:
These are the natural expressions of our original nature. When we nurture these qualities, we align ourselves with the flow of the universe.
Conversely, there are attitudes and behaviours that stand in direct opposition to the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. These include selfishness, self-interest, excessive self-protection, hypocrisy, and insincerity. Many people mistakenly believe that it is natural to live without knowing gratitude or filial piety, yet these mindsets only lead to the accumulation of endless sins. If you find yourself harbouring such negative traits, do not hesitate and do not overthink the matter. You must let go of these attachments immediately and change your ways without delay. This decisive action is the very essence of the perseverance and determination required to transform your karma and alter your destiny.
People often allow themselves to drift through life in a state of confusion. They may be aware that they need to let go of Greed, Anger, Ignorance, Arrogance, and Doubt, as well as the —wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep—yet they continue to live day after day without making any real change. They allow their lives to pass by until the very moment of death. Consequently, they carry these unaddressed attachments into their next life, where the same patterns of confusion repeat themselves over and over again. This cycle of samsara continues because we fail to act when we have the chance.
The gift of a human body and the time we have in this life are incredibly precious. It is truly a tragedy to squander this opportunity through laziness or lack of focus. Especially for those of us engaged in practice, we must treat ourselves and all beings with compassion. We must actively change our faults and strive to break through our limitations. When we initiate this effort from within, the power of will surely assist us. By letting go of what hinders us and changing our negative habits, we engage in diligent practice and purification. This is the only way to attain the state of an awakened being, save yourself and others, reaching the and finding one's own Buddha nature.
