When karmic creditors manifest before you, you must understand that they are spirits who have been waiting for a very long time. They remain trapped within the space of their past, whether it has been ten, one hundred, or one thousand years. For some, the duration of their suffering is so vast that it has become impossible to measure. Throughout this entire time, their suffering and hardship have never ceased.
It is often our own internal state that triggers their appearance. Through the fluctuations of our thoughts, or through the influence of our Body, Speech, and Mind, we create the conditions for these karmic creditors to manifest. This is why we may suddenly experience the rapid aging of our physical bodies, unexplained or persistent illnesses, or deep-seated problems within our Body-Mind-Spirit. These spirits may reside outside of our physical form or dwell within us, whether their presence is obvious or hidden from our perception.
Consider the immense suffering of those caught in the chaos of war. In such times, families are torn apart, homes are destroyed, and individuals are left with nowhere to return. Even long after the physical conflict has ended, the spirits of generals, soldiers, and even their horses remain trapped in that space, still engaged in the battles of their past.
These spirits are forced to repeatedly relive the exact moment of their death. They are caught in a cycle of trauma, repeating their final, agonising moments over and over again. Whether it has been a decade, a century, or a millennium, they remain confined to this state of suffering, unable to find peace or release.
The turning point for these suffering beings arrives through the rescue by the Body of Practitioner Su. This intervention acts as a profound transformation for those who have been lost in the darkness of their past. Through this rescue, the fighting ceases, as if a long-awaited peace treaty has been signed; their homes are restored, and families are finally reunited; and their physical forms are healed and returned to their original, healthy state.
Once they are rescued from that space of suffering, they are guided to the Western Land of Dharma Nature. There, they are given the opportunity to listen to the sutras and hear the Dharma. Through the process of , they are able to leave their suffering behind and find happiness, ultimately entering the Western Land. This act of salvation is one of the many ways the grace of the Buddha manifests to save infinite beings. .
