In the Midst of the Suffering of the Saha World, Only Fragrant Light is a Ray of Hope

A disciple once asked, ", people are often trapped in their own thoughts and selfishness without even realising it. This leads to all kinds of suffering. May I humbly request your compassionate teachings on this matter?"
Namo Amituofo replied: "Thinking is an inherent part of the life of worldly people. Being reincarnated through countless aeons has become a common ailment for all beings. Where there is thought, there is . Where there is conceptual thinking, there is the weight of karmic force. This is the root of the cycle of rebirth that keeps beings bound to the world of suffering."
"The method to counter this is to expand your mind-capacity. When your mind-capacity is vast, there is no room for idle, selfish thinking. You simply act as is required, without forming attachments, and certainly without making comparisons. The suffering of worldly people arises precisely from these three things: comparison, hierarchy, and conceptual thinking. This is why the principle of equality in the Buddha’s teachings is so vital."
"To guide your practice, you must hold fast to these essential qualities and steps:"
"Even when you face illness, you are not alone. You are cared for by the fourfold assembly of disciples. This is what it means to be one family in the ."
"True mind-capacity arises naturally from within the heart. It is not forced, nor does it seek reward or validation. This is your innate nature; it is naturally present within your true self. It is clear, natural, light, and free from all burdens. For beings burdened by karma who wish to open their mind-capacity, the first step is to encounter a true spiritual friend through Causal Conditions. You must draw close to them and learn diligently.
To pull yourself away from the selfishness inherent in your karma is like a cicada shedding its shell. If you cannot shed this shell, how can you attain the freedom of the cicada’s song? The process of learning requires:
Through this process, you will naturally transform. Sincerity, perseverance, and faith are absolutely essential."
"Mind-capacity is priceless, just as compassion and Wisdom are priceless. They are all natural expressions of your true self. Yet, these are exactly what the modern, short-sighted society lacks. Those who study the Buddha’s teachings, and especially the disciples of the Pure Land, are like bright pearls. You are here to illuminate the empty, weary hearts of others and bring them light and warmth.
Every one of you must seize these magnificent and rare Causal Conditions. Learn well and make good use of your individual talents. There is a place for everyone to contribute. Focus only on how much you are doing, and do not concern yourself with what others are displaying. Each person has their own shortcomings, their own lessons to learn, and their own Causal Conditions to navigate. Everything is done to save suffering beings, and you yourself are one of those suffering beings.
When you understand this, your true self will be revealed. The beings within your own true self can then be saved. You do not need to rely on others; you can achieve this yourself."
