The Awakened One

The Radiance of True Awakening

During the second session of the Thrice Yearning Ceremony, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered profound guidance on the essence of an awakened being. To awaken is to possess a clear, penetrating understanding of the fundamental dualities that govern our existence in the cycle of rebirth.

One must awaken to the nature of life and death, distinguishing between truth and illusion. One must awaken to the difference between the void and the real, between purity and impurity, between confusion and enlightenment, and between the right path and the wrong path. This is the beginning of true clarity.

The Serenity of the Awakened Heart

When one truly attains this state of awakening, one will no longer repeat past errors. The heart becomes entirely free from suffering, for there is nothing left that one cannot see through. When the mind is clear, there is nothing that one cannot let go of.

In this state, there is only the eternally unmoving meditative concentration, profound joy, and the true self in perfect freedom and pure suchness. This is the state of those who have realised their true nature.

The Inherent Nature Within

This awakened nature is not something to be sought outside; it is inherent in every person. To the students of Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, know that this nature is already within you, waiting to be revealed through your diligent practice.
