You may often ask yourself, "How do I truly let go? Where is this 'self' that I am so attached to?" If you are searching for the answer to these questions, you need look no further than the practice of chanting the six-syllable name of . This sacred name is the key to unlocking the wisdom that lies within your own heart.
If you can chant Namo Amituofo with a focused mind, without interruption, and with a heart filled with , you are already in the process of letting go of . However, if you find that your chanting is frequently interrupted, or if you are still troubled by delusions, messy thoughts, or lingering worries, it is a sign that you have not yet truly let go of your attachment to the self.
To truly let go, you must be willing to release your grip on everything that you perceive as "yours." This includes:

Those who have not yet rediscovered their true self-nature often mistake the physical body for the truth. They cling to it tightly, and as a result, they suffer through the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, death, and remain trapped in the cycle of reincarnation. They are controlled by their karma rather than being the master of their own destiny.
However, when you finally rediscover your true self-nature, your perspective shifts entirely. You will see that every being you encounter possesses the same Buddha-nature. You will understand that your physical body is merely an illusion. When you let go of the false self, your true self-nature takes its rightful place as the master. In this state, you will find true peace, clarity, and freedom.
