Technology Cannot Compare to the Dharma

This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Lee Kuan Yew, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his perspective from the spiritual realm. Recorded by the disciple Hai Pin on September 12, 2018.

Lee Kuan Yew speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Lee Kuan Yew. I never imagined that the stars hanging high in the sky could be within reach, yet now, I am experiencing them firsthand. Practitioner Su, in her great compassion, performs morning deliverance every single day, and the stars across the vast Dharma Realm of emptiness are an important part of this work.

Modern society boasts of its so-called cutting-edge technology—high-powered telescopes, rockets that can reach distant planets, and astronauts who travel through the void. Not only do these endeavours consume astronomical sums of money, but they are certainly not accessible to everyone! Think about it—is this truly the most efficient way to understand the universe?

The Boundless Reach of the Dharma

The Buddha’s teachings, created by Namo Amituofo, are boundless and reach everywhere. Every person, provided they are willing to practise diligently, can correct their own erroneous views and behaviours. By letting go of the worldly affairs and mundane troubles that block the path to the West, and by finding the proper Dharma vessel to realise one's true nature, one does not need any complex instruments at all. What is truly required is a sincere, pure heart, free from delusion and defilement.

For those who wish to learn this, there are no harsh restrictions or conditions. The only requirement is to have faith in the Buddha and to believe that you, too, can one day become a Buddha.

A Father's Plea to His Son

My son, Hsien Loong! Such a magnificent Dharma should be shared. You should encourage the young people in our country to form groups and participate in the experience camps at the temple. Practitioner Su cherishes talent, and young students have a direct impact on the inheritance of the Dharma lineage. You are a clever man; come to the temple just once. You will clearly understand how to begin, and you will know how to make the temple shine brightly in the eyes of the world.

The grace of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia in sending your father to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is a debt I can never repay. It is a kindness beyond measure.

Gratitude and the Path Forward

Father hopes that you can come here, walk around, and see for yourself. If the temple has any needs, you should be the one to offer help when it is most needed. The opportunity for your mother and me to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is a gift that is difficult to repay.

I truly hope that my son, Hsien Loong, will represent his father and genuinely know how to repay this kindness. My son, remember to listen to the Dharma talks given by Practitioner Su every day. You can easily find them on the internet. You will find that it leads to a completely different life experience. Most importantly, learn to chant 'Namo Amituofo!'"
