Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju:

To the fourfold assembly of disciples,

Have you witnessed the tireless efforts of Practitioner Su? He works to save all beings and demon crowds alike, remaining fearless even when faced with the spells cast by demon crowds to attack his physical body. He does not stop, not even for a moment. Although his body endures the attacks of these demons as he takes on the suffering of others, he continues to guide them into the Dharma-Nature Land. Through his compassion, he has transformed countless old demons and ancient demons, leading them to seek refuge in the Truth.

The Living Example of the Buddha-Heart

This is not merely the manifestation of the Buddha-heart, the Buddha-vow, and Buddha-actions. It is a living example of teachings that are difficult to encounter in millions of years. Have you seen how Practitioner Su works to keep Namo Amituofo present in this world? He works without rest, performing Chao Du to help beings and demon crowds leave suffering behind. He treats one day as if it were two, working with immense urgency.

He understands that Namo Amituofo came to this world specifically to save all beings. By working tirelessly, he ensures that Namo Amituofo remains present here. Only in this way can beings and demon crowds have the opportunity to be saved, to leave suffering behind, and to achieve rebirth in the Western Pure Land. Despite being constantly attacked by demon crowds, his heart never retreats. This is the great compassion of the Buddha, the vow not to abandon a single being, and the dedication to continue saving beings within the Dharma Realm while enduring the suffering of others.

Reclaiming the Mind

If you, as members of the fourfold assembly, can understand this, then your compassion will arise and your wisdom will manifest. You must quickly reclaim your mind. You must reclaim the mind that has been allowed to drift:

• Reclaim the mind that is lost in drowsiness.
• Reclaim the mind that wanders into other spaces and feels helpless.
• Reclaim the mind that has become stagnant and stopped moving forward.
• Reclaim the mind that has resigned itself to fate.
• Reclaim the mind that feels helpless and defeated.
• Reclaim the mind that feels incapable of achieving its goals.

You must quickly change your personality traits and transform them into a mind that is ready to face challenges, break through obstacles, and engage in fierce, diligent practice. Do not forget your original intention, your desire to realise your true nature, and your great compassion. This is the path of self-salvation.

The Path of Constant Practice

By resolving conflicts through the invitation of spirits and the performance of Chao Du, and by ensuring that lectures on the Dharma never cease, the Buddha saves us at every moment. Do not forget that you must first exert your own effort; only then can the power of the Buddha be added to your own. Through this combination of self-power and Buddha-power, you will surely succeed.
