Beings within the cycle of rebirth are constantly driven by the force of their own . Because they have not yet seen their own situation or the true nature of their encounters clearly, they have drifted through life after life, lost in confusion. Among the six realms of existence, it is only within the human world that we have the rare and precious opportunity to see the truth of this cycle clearly. By doing so, we can finally break free from the destiny and control of our past karma. This is the moment to reclaim our true self, achieve the Buddha's path, and make the firm vow to chant so that we may be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss. If you can successfully fulfil this wish, you will dwell within the Infinite Life and Infinite Light of the Western Pure Land, where your path to realising your true nature and attaining Buddhahood is fully guaranteed.
What, then, is the actual truth? It is found when you listen to the sutras and hear the . It is found when you draw close to the Three Jewels, to those who have realised their true nature, to the great virtuous ones, and to your true spiritual friend. Through seeing and hearing these various forms of the Dharma Jewel, you will come to know and understand a fundamental reality: every single being possesses the same true self and Buddha-nature. We all inherently possess infinite wisdom, virtues, and auspicious characteristics. It is only because of our delusions and attachments that we cannot realise these qualities right now. When you truly understand the magnificence of this meaning within your heart, you will see that our current state of sinking into the suffering of birth, aging, sickness, death is not our natural state.
Consequently, you will develop a heart of weariness toward this suffering. You will begin to practise the path, seek the truth, and actively change your ways. Only then will you have the opportunity to find your true self and escape the cycle of rebirth. Otherwise, you will remain an ordinary person bound by karmic forces, struggling to find a way out of the six realms.
The for Rebirth
You must understand that Faith, Vows, and Practice are the three essential provisions for rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. One cannot be reborn in the Western Pure Land with only a small amount of good roots, , and causal conditions. Within the Infinite Life Sutra (The Buddha Speaks the , Infinite Life, Adornment, Purity, Impartiality, and Sutra), you can come to know Namo Amituofo, understand the Forty-eight Great Vows, and perceive the beauty of the Western Pure Land. It is here that you will grasp the vital importance of chanting Namo Amituofo, especially at the time of death.
Cultivating the Path to the Western Pure Land
To ensure your success, you must engage in consistent cultivation. By drawing close to the Buddha or , true spiritual friends, or the Three Jewels, you will listen to the True Teachings and awaken your good roots. Through serving the bodhimanda and the community, engaging in acts of Generosity, and being mindful in your speech and actions, you will cultivate both blessings and wisdom, thereby nurturing your own virtuous conduct. By creating broad Dharma affinities, you accumulate the necessary causal conditions to ensure that the opportunity for rebirth in the West manifests as soon as possible.
