In our daily lives, we often find ourselves captivated by the superficial appearances of the world. We observe the events unfolding around us, yet we frequently choose to ignore the profound truths that lie beneath the surface. Sometimes, this is because we have never truly contemplated the deeper reality of our existence; at other times, we simply remain unaware of the hidden forces that govern our lives.
Consider, for instance, the laws of and cause and effect. Many people understand that their actions carry consequences, yet they still choose to act against their conscience. They knowingly commit negative acts, allowing their hearts to become clouded by filth. This inevitably leads to negative consequences, causing suffering to their body, mind, and spirit. Everything in this world is governed by the laws of karma and cause and effect, including our journey through the six realms of rebirth and the precious opportunity to obtain a human body.
Our relationships with parents, children, and loved ones are all bound by these same conditions. When the are present, we gather together; when those conditions are exhausted, we must part ways. This is the nature of our emotional world, a cycle that continues until we realise the truth.
When you look clearly at these facts, you will realise that only your true nature remains eternal and unchanging. It is not influenced by any external factors, nor can it be diminished, damaged, or destroyed. This is the real you, existing in a state of pure spirit. Finding your way back to this true nature is the very definition of becoming a Buddha. In this state, you possess:
Once you have returned to your true nature, you will no longer be subject to the suffering of the cycle of rebirth. You will no longer engage in actions that bind you to this world or cause pain to your body, mind, and spirit. Many people remain unaware of this fundamental truth, and as a result, they endure endless suffering within the cycle of rebirth.
Recognising this truth is the first step toward diligent practice. To find your way back to your true nature, you must undertake the work of purification. The most important aspect of this process is to change your personality traits. You must continue this work until you reach a state of absolute purity and goodness, eventually becoming an awakened being. This is the essential process of your spiritual practice.
This truth is known to the spirit realm, even if it remains hidden from many in the human world. Because of this, countless spirit realm beings have already been saved and received the light of the Buddha. They understand the urgency of this path, and they have already begun their journey toward liberation.
Today, Namo Amituofo is truly residing here at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. The presence of the Buddha is here to help all beings leave suffering behind and to lead them to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. The fourfold assembly of disciples must understand that our practice and purification are specifically aimed at reaching this state of awakening and returning to our true nature.
You must be diligent and work hard. Do not let this opportunity pass you by. The path is clear, the guidance is present, and the goal is within your reach. Rise up quickly, commit yourself to the path of purification, and let the light of your true nature shine once more.
