Ripples Remaining
Understanding Namo Amituofo and the Forty-eight Great Vows
Wandering back and forth, left and right, when will you finally return to the righteous path? You often feel the need to experience things for yourselves, insisting on testing the waters again and again. You might try once, twice, or even three times, ignoring the repeated counsel provided to you. You remain unwilling to change your ways, preferring instead to follow your own desires and impulses. Do you truly need to taste the bitter fruits that come from your own mistakes before you are willing to stop these inappropriate behaviours and curb your cravings?
Are you waiting for the moment of suffering to arrive before you finally decide to return to the righteous path? It is only when you are lost in this cycle of wandering—constantly veering left and right, always deviating from the truth—that you begin to realise the reality of your situation. Only then do you start to understand that the words spoken by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the ancestral masters, Practitioner Su, and myself, were correct all along. By then, however, the laws of and cause and effect have already taken their course, and you must bear the weight of that suffering. While we feel deep compassion for you, we cannot simply erase the results of your actions. We cannot save you from the lessons you have chosen to learn the hard way.
Fortunately, there is still hope. Within the temple, we and the protectors are always watching over you. Everything can still be corrected if you are willing to turn back immediately. It is time to stop the wandering and settle your heart and mind. You must commit yourself to walking the righteous path without deviation.
To truly progress, you must:
Now is the time to fully manifest your potential. Join with the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Practitioner Su, and me as we walk together on the great path of saving the world and delivering sentient beings. There is no greater purpose than this. Let us move forward with a unified heart, dedicated to the work of liberation, ensuring that no more time is lost in the cycle of confusion. .
