This is because the duration of this current life, when compared to the vast, immeasurable eons of time that have passed, is incredibly brief. In the blink of an eye, life vanishes like mist.

The Fleeting Nature of Existence

If you have not yet achieved the necessary skills through chanting Namo Amituofo to ensure your rebirth in the Western Pure Land, falling back into the cycle of rebirth is an all-too-easy occurrence. Therefore, I urge you to intensify your efforts and move forward with unwavering focus. Do not allow yourself to be distracted by the transient nature of the world.

The joys, angers, sorrows, and happiness that you experience in life—the meetings and the partings—all occur within a single moment, and they are swallowed up by that same moment. If you were to sacrifice the great matter of your rebirth in the Western Pure Land for the sake of these fleeting experiences, it would truly be a profound loss that is not worth the price.

The Path to Our Eternal Home

The habits of your personal ego and selfishness have been accumulated over countless lifetimes. If you do not change them in this life, when will you ever change them? Do you truly wish to fall back into the cycle of rebirth, inviting suffering upon yourself and drifting endlessly in the ocean of karma with no hope of escape?

At this very moment, Namo Amituofo manifests the Fragrant Light to guide you. Now is the time to quicken your pace and engage in diligent practice. This is the golden opportunity to rediscover your true self and the perfect time to return to the Western Pure Land. Please, do not be careless, and do not let this precious chance slip through your fingers.
