On this day, November 7, 2021, we gather in the spirit of the to reflect upon the profound wisdom of the Buddha. Namo Amituofo offers us these essential teachings, reminding us that the path to liberation is always accessible to those who are willing to take the first step.
To embark upon the path of practice, one must first possess the humility to recognise the limitations within oneself. It is only when we acknowledge our own shortcomings that we can truly awaken to the need for guidance. We must humbly accept the teachings provided by the Buddha, the masters, and Practitioner Su. By following this path with sincerity, we continue our journey until our practice bears fruit and we have successfully reclaimed our true self. Remember this truth: it is never too late to begin.
Once you have begun your practice, you may walk through this world without fear and without obstacles. This is what it means to be truly free. As long as you still have breath in your body, you have the opportunity to change your destiny. If you have come to know the beauty and the peace of the of Ultimate Bliss, and if you have the sincere vow to chant Namo Amituofo and seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land, then your age does not matter. Whether you are young or old, if you start your diligent practice now, it is never too late to begin.
Many of us have spent our lives in a state of spiritual lethargy, feeling as though our hearts were closed or our minds were drifting. Suddenly, we may wake up to the reality that everything we have experienced is precious and not easily attained. When this awakening occurs, you will understand the importance of cherishing and grasping every moment, ensuring that you no longer waste your life. Your days will become full and meaningful. When you find yourself in this state of renewed purpose, know that it is never too late to begin.
We often find ourselves caught in the cycle of lethargy and distraction, yet we can suddenly become clear and alert. We must realise how rare and precious it is to be able to practise at Hsiang Kuang. When you understand this, you will naturally become fiercely diligent. You will face all challenges directly, no longer seeking to escape, and you will move forward with the goal of reaching an awakened being and saving all beings. It is never too late to begin.
We are all subject to the pains of aging, illness, and the impermanence of life's separations. When you finally hear and understand that this physical body is merely a temporary vessel, you will no longer be deceived by it. Once you stop being controlled by , you can "see through" and "let go" of the illusions of this world. By engaging in True Cultivation and moving forward with a straight heart, you will finally see the truth, reclaim your true self, and become the master of your own life. It is never too late to begin.
