My children, how will you choose to spend your life?

The Three Paths Before You

You stand at a crossroads, and the path you choose will determine the course of your existence. There are three distinct ways to live:

• The Path of Reincarnation:
• You may continue as you have throughout your many lives, trapped in the cycle of suffering, aging, falling ill, and dying in the cycle of reincarnation, living a life defined by impermanence.The Path of Liberation:
• You may choose to break through this cycle, achieve true liberation, and by chanting Namo Amituofo, be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.The Path of Awakening: You may dedicate yourself to your practice until you reach the state of an awakened being, which allows you to freely travel to and from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

These three paths are vastly different. In the first, your spirit remains obscured, and you simply endure the inevitable suffering of birth, aging, sickness, and death. In the second, you learn the teachings, chant Namo Amituofo, and at the end of your life, you are guided to rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. In the third, you cultivate your practice until your spirit is elevated to the state of an awakened being, granting you the freedom to traverse the realms at will.

The Power of Heart and Action

Everything depends on your heart and your actions. When you engage in your practice in this world, how much of the truth do you truly understand? How clearly can you distinguish between your eternal spirit and your temporary physical body? How well can you tell the difference between what is illusory and what is real?

These are not merely words on paper. They are the fundamental facts of existence. Only by clearly recognising the truth can you avoid being deluded by the world around you. Only then can you reach the state of an awakened being. Once you have attained this, you will be able to use your wisdom and resources to help all beings break through delusion and attain enlightenment, helping them to recognise their true self, Namo Amituofo, and the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

The Wisdom of Choosing Wisely

In your daily life, you are often caught in the habit of making choices based on your personal preferences, what is familiar, what is convenient, or what seems easy. However, the way you make these decisions will profoundly influence how you spend this life and where your spirit will go after you leave this physical body behind.

For those of you who are busy, living a life of familiarity may seem to save time. But if the result of such a life is merely to pass through this world only to return to the cycle of rebirth, is that truly the life you wish to lead? Why would you choose to remain in such a state?

A Life Dedicated to Awakening

You must seize the opportunity of having this human body. Enter into your practice, remove the stains of worldly attachments, and focus on your purification. By doing so, you will find your way back to your true self. Live a life that is dedicated to the state of an awakened being, saving others and guiding them back to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
