Where does illness truly come from? To understand the nature of our physical and mental ailments, we must look beyond the surface. Illness arises from three primary sources:
If you wish to heal your body, you must first begin by healing your heart. This is the fundamental step in any true recovery.
To heal the heart, you must ensure that every thought you hold is rooted in Goodness. Do not allow your heart to dwell on negativity, anger, or greed. Instead, focus on cultivating your good roots, for this is how you will eventually achieve the fruit of . You have the power to transform your thinking by replacing worldly concerns with the name of . When you allow the sacred name of Namo Amituofo to circulate within your heart, you create a protective shield for your ordinary mind. This is the highest form of Goodness, a sanctuary where your spirit can find peace and clarity.
When we look at the physical body, we see the manifestation of karmic debts accumulated over countless lifetimes. The illnesses we face today are often the result of ripening in this present life. When you add the weight of spiritual attachments—those beings who cling to our energy—the burden becomes even heavier. These layers of sentient beings, carried within our own bodies, are the true cause of the frailty, aging, and sickness we observe.
We urge you to begin your study of the Buddha’s teachings as early as possible. By learning the , you can resolve the grievances you hold with these karmic creditors. You must strive to break through your latent habits or bad character traits. By listening to the sutras and hearing the Dharma, you stop the cycle of mutual resentment and conflict.
Understand that there is a way forward—a path leading to the of Ultimate Bliss. By to your true self, you can invite these beings to join you on the path to liberation. We are fortunate that at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, the presence of Namo Amituofo provides us with a sacred sanctuary. Through the , we have the magnificent opportunity to perform for these beings, guiding them toward rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. When your good roots, your , and your Causal Conditions are all aligned, this transition becomes possible.
Your practice must be one of diligent practice. With Namo Amituofo as your guide and Practitioner Su as your companion, you must move forward with boldness and without fear. You must purify your heart, purify your body, and transform your karma. By doing so, you will rediscover your true self and find the strength to heal the suffering of all beings. Let us walk this path together, following the Buddha’s footsteps, and work to save all sentient beings who are still lost in the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, death.
