On the twelfth of September, 2017, the disciple Shi Faxi respectfully prostrated before , humbly inviting the Buddha to provide teachings for the benefit of all beings. Namo Amituofo, in His infinite , offered this discourse on the nature of reality and the path to true .
What is the path that the Buddha walks? Is it truly real? What constitutes reality, and what is its true appearance? When you look into your own heart, can you see it as it truly is? Many of the states you experience today are not in accordance with the . How have these states come to be? The appearances you perceive are not the Dharma itself; they are merely reflections. When you face reality with a heart that is still, the ripples of the mind will vanish, for they have long been extinguished by the light of wisdom.
When the heart is not in a state of purity, the principles of the universe cannot be understood. You must ask yourself: who is it that speaks of these principles? Is it the Buddha, or is it your own ego? You may claim that your understanding is the True Teachings, but you must examine your intentions. What is the ultimate Truth behind your words? If you merely speak of the Buddha’s teachings to satisfy your own desires, you are only creating more and burying your true nature deeper beneath the dust of the world.
The True Teachings are the path of the absolute. They are the vessel that carries the Truth. To walk this path, you must let go of . This is the meaning of Mindless True Suchness: it is a state where the ego is absent, and only the Truth remains. When you are free from the constraints of the self, you are truly real. This is the pure and correct appearance of the universe. You must keep your eyes clear and your understanding sharp; do not lose sight of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.
What does it mean to lose one's way? It means to be unable to return from the dust of the world. The debt you have incurred is heavy, and it creates obstacles that obscure the vastness of the void. The Truth is not something that can be moved or altered. If your path deviates from the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, it will be difficult to attain the true appearance of the Buddha. Within the vast treasury of the Dharma, there is no room for your personal thoughts, your personal desires, or your personal attachments. The path of no-self is the only way forward.
The True Teachings are firm and unyielding. You must rely on the principles and the Dharma, not on your own personal states. Do not lead others astray by following your own biases. To practise correctly, you must know the Truth and act accordingly. Do not deceive your own heart. You must be authentic and sincere. The laws of the universe are absolute, and no one can escape the power of the Dharma. You must act with true sincerity; do not engage in hypocritical practices. Only by walking the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way can you achieve a state of pure, singular focus.
Everyone possesses a heart that can know the Buddha. This heart is the same as the Buddha's heart. If you feel that your true nature has been extinguished, it is not because the principle is wrong, but because you have strayed from the path. If you return to the principles of the Dharma, you are once again one with the Buddha. Where does the Buddha go? The Buddha has always been hidden within your own heart. The dust of the world has merely covered it. By purifying your heart, you will reveal your true nature once more.
The essential point of practice is to have nothing in the heart. Do not seek the Truth in external things, for in reality, there is nothing to be found outside. You must nurture true purity in your heart and act with sincerity and respect. You must have faith in the Buddha, and you must also have faith in your own heart. Do not let the dust of the world disturb your spirit. Do not let greed pull you into the cycle of desire. When you understand the principles and the Dharma, you must walk the path of Truth with unwavering faith.
The Dharma is not found in external objects; it is found by knowing your own heart. Seeking the Dharma within is the only way to align with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. The Truth is empty of self; it is not found in the pages of a book, which can become a barrier of words. You must see the vastness of the void. The Dharma is the true teaching, and only the Great Dharma can enter the heart. You must let the Dharma guide you into the realm of reality. You must truly seek the journey to the West, rather than lingering in the dust of this world.
Namo Amituofo is here in this world to save all beings. Do not be blinded by the world. I am here now, and I call upon you to protect the Dharma, to spread the teachings of the West, and to seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Know the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, know how to protect and propagate the Dharma, and know where the Dharma truly belongs. The True Teachings will surely prevail in this world, and I have already added my strength to ensure the great expansion of the True Teachings.
