Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe.
On the sixth of February, 2022, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju offered these profound teachings regarding the nature of our existence and the path of the Buddha.
The compassion of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is vast, profound, and without limit. Their hearts and actions, which are entirely dedicated to saving the world and rescuing suffering beings, are beginningless and endless. This is because the suffering of living beings in the cycle of rebirth has no end. As long as there is suffering, the compassionate vow of the Buddhas remains active and present.
The path of learning to be a Buddha and attaining Buddhahood is also beginningless and endless. Why is this so? It is because the Buddha is the very embodiment of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. This existence is eternal; it has always existed and is inherently beyond the cycle of birth and death. It is not something that is created, nor is it something that can be destroyed.
Compassion, wisdom, , and the ability to let go are all inherently complete within your true self. Therefore, for those who have realised their true nature, this boundless compassion, wisdom, joy, and the ability to let go exist eternally, without beginning and without end. You should constantly uphold these virtues and use them well in your daily life. By doing so, you will broaden your affinity and effectively eliminate your spiritual obstacles. This practice brings you into perfect sync with your true self, creating the conditions necessary to realise your true nature.
Your spirit is eternal, beyond birth and death. It arises from the beginningless and continues into the endless. You must nurture and protect this spirit well, with the hope that you will soon realise your true nature. Through diligent practice and a sincere heart, you can return to this original state of purity and light.
