Awaken Quickly: A Call to Return to the Path

The Fragility of Our Time

Dear students, life is fleeting and finite. How many of us have spent far too much time wandering in the darkness of confusion, doubt, and past mistakes? We have drifted through our days without a clear sense of purpose, often losing our way in the fog of our own making.

If not for the compassionate intervention of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the tireless guidance of Practitioner Su, and the constant protection of the Dharma protectors, you would have long ago strayed onto the wrong path. You would have been lost in the maze of reincarnation, repeating the old, painful cycles that have held us captive for countless lifetimes.

Shedding the Burden of the Self

If you truly wish to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, you must be willing to let go. You must release your old ways of thinking, your habitual behaviours, your fixed perspectives, and above all, the stubborn attachment to the self. Only when you empty your heart of these heavy burdens can the teachings of the Dharma and the sacred Buddha-name of Namo Amituofo truly enter your consciousness.

This is the essential key to purifying the body, heart, and spirit. It is the only way to clear the obstructions that prevent you from seeing your true nature with clarity and wisdom.

The Crucible of Practice

This process of purification demands immense perseverance and a sharp, unwavering awareness. You must be prepared to withstand the tests that come your way as you walk this path. This includes the inevitable changes of the physical body, the onset of aging, and the various pains and illnesses that arise as karmic conditions mature.

Though the body may suffer, your heart and spirit must remain anchored in awareness and right thought. Do not let the suffering of the body lead your mind into retreat, and do not allow it to cause you to abandon your original aspiration. Your commitment to the path must be stronger than the temporary discomforts of the flesh.

The Grace of Guidance

Students of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are truly fortunate. You have Practitioner Su, who walks this path in a human body and possesses the profound ability to guide sentient beings into the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Even if your own practice has not yet reached the level required to enter the Western Land through your own power alone, you have the support of Practitioner Su to help you fulfil your vow of rebirth.

However, you must understand that relying on this support will place you in the Land of Common Residence of Sages and Ordinary Beings. If you can rouse your own strength and cultivate the capacity to enter the Western Land through your own diligent practice, your grade of rebirth will be significantly elevated. The time for hesitation has passed. You must awaken quickly!
