An Announcement Regarding Chao Du Merit Contributions

May the compassion of the Buddha shine upon all. We express our deepest gratitude to the kind-hearted devotees from the ten directions for your long-standing support and unwavering trust in our temple. It is through your collective devotion that we are able to continue our mission of saving beings and spreading the light of the Dharma.

Maintaining the Purity of Our Bodhimanda

In recent years, we have observed a continuous rise in the cost of living and operational expenses. These increases naturally affect the costs associated with the daily operations of our temple and the hosting of our various Dharma assemblies. To ensure that our sacred halls remain well-maintained, our environment stays clean and serene, and the quality of our Dharma assemblies continues to be stable and elevated, we have found it necessary to make adjustments.

Therefore, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has officially decided to implement a moderate adjustment to the merit fees for Chao Du deliverance ceremonies, effective from 9 April 2026.

Dedication to the Propagation of the Dharma

We wish to assure all devotees that the merit fees collected from these adjustments will be utilised entirely for the essential work of the temple. These funds are dedicated to:

• The ongoing operational needs of the temple.
• The diligent maintenance of our sacred bodhimanda.
• The broad propagation of the Buddha’s teachings to benefit all sentient beings.

We invite all kind-hearted devotees from the ten directions to continue your generous support. By contributing, you are not merely paying a fee; you are planting seeds of merit in the field of the Buddha, which will bear fruit for your own spiritual growth and the liberation of all beings.

Updated Guidelines for Chao Du Merit Fees

In consideration of the varying economic environments and inflation rates across different regions, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has established the following adjusted merit fees for Chao Du ceremonies:

• Australia: AUD 800 per ceremony.
• Taiwan: NTD 18,000 per ceremony.

Regarding the merit fees for the regions of China and Hong Kong, these were previously adjusted and will remain unchanged at this time:

• China: CNY 4,000 per ceremony.
• Hong Kong: HKD 4,500 per ceremony.

We hereby issue this formal announcement and kindly request that all members of the fourfold community of disciples take note of these changes. May we all continue to walk the path of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way together.
