A Mother's Return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Lin Jinhua, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and her message to her family. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on April 26, 2024.

Lay Practitioner Lin Jinhua speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I, Jinhua, have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I kneel and bow before the Buddha. Only now do I truly realise that the Buddha is our eternal, compassionate Father. As I gaze upon the radiant light of the Buddha’s compassion, my heart expands more and more with every passing moment. I have wandered the long, weary road of samsara for so long—so very long—but at last, I have turned back. My heart is now profoundly at peace. I could not help but bow my head repeatedly to the Buddha to express my deepest gratitude. Now, in every single moment, I am filled with joy."

A Transformation Beyond Words

"My children, your mother has reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have become so young again, and my body is entirely free from illness and pain. I feel as vibrant as I once was, perhaps even more so. All of this is the blessing of the Buddha; it is the manifestation of His infinite compassion for me. You must be happy for me, for I am finally home.

In the past, I suffered greatly from the interference of my karmic creditors. I had to repay what I owed to all beings. In previous lives, I caused others to lose their lives, and in this lifetime, those karmic creditors came to seek revenge. It was only right that I should face this. Thinking of this now, I sincerely repent before all my karmic creditors for the harm I caused."

The Wisdom of Letting Go

"Every one of us carries a mountain of debt from the past. Even if we start repaying it this very moment, it is almost impossible to clear it all in time. Though I have reached the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, there is still much I left behind that I did not have the chance to settle. My children, you still possess your physical bodies; you still have the precious opportunity to perform good deeds and resolve these debts with your own karmic creditors.

Your mother’s personality was far too strong in the past, which is precisely why my karmic creditors were able to find me. I want to remind you now: you are all such good children, but do not let your pride or stubbornness rule you. A rigid personality only harms oneself. From this day forward, learn to yield. Learn not to calculate or hold onto grievances. I did not fully understand these truths before, but now I see how vital they are. I love you all so much, which is why I hope you will take my words to heart and follow the guidance I leave for you."

A Final Gift of Guidance

"You must ensure that your thoughts are pure and your intentions are good. If you can do this, you will help yourselves lead stable, peaceful lives and resolve conflicts with all beings. These principles—which allow one to transcend the world while still living within it—are what I hope you will always remember. Life is not long; you must seize the present moment and dedicate yourselves to chanting Namo Amituofo.

This is the gift I leave for you. It is my deepest wish that all our family members may live in peace and joy.
