A Mother's Message from the Western Pure Land

This is a record of an interview with Guo Airong, the mother of Lay Practitioner Zhang Yunni, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition and her message to her daughter. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on September 26, 2025.

Guo Airong speaks:

"Yunni, my dear daughter, I am speaking to you from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I want you to know that I have arrived safely and that I am doing wonderfully. The reason I was so willing to follow Namo Amituofo to this magnificent place so quickly is, in part, because I know how often you think of me. I wanted to set your heart at ease, so I made the firm decision to follow Namo Amituofo without hesitation, leaving behind all the worries of the human world to reach this beautiful destination."

A Journey of Peace and Grace

"Thank you, my child, for guiding me on this most magnificent journey. The moment my feet touched the soil of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, I felt a profound sense of peace and stability—a feeling of being truly home, which I have never known before. It is a state of being that is beyond description, where every anxiety simply melts away into the light of the Buddha."

"Here in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, the teachings of Namo Amituofo are everywhere. Even though I have only just arrived, I am constantly hearing the Dharma. The voice of Namo Amituofo is filled with such boundless compassion; it warms my very soul and clears away any lingering shadows from my past. After experiencing this, I have decided to surrender myself completely to Namo Amituofo and dedicate myself to learning the Dharma with a focused and joyful heart."

The Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss

"I have heard the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas speak of this place as the Pure Land, which signifies a state of absolute coolness and clarity. I can truly feel it now. Looking at the dignified and magnificent scenery around me, my heart is overflowing with Dharma joy. This joy is entirely different from anything I experienced in the human world; it is a solid, unshakable feeling that permeates my entire being. It is the joy of true liberation."

"I am deeply grateful to Practitioner Su for leading me to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Without that guidance, I might still be wandering in the cycle of rebirth. Yunni, you are such a wonderful child, and I can feel your filial piety from here. I understand that life requires us to endure many trials and tribulations, but I hope you can settle your heart firmly in Namo Amituofo. I pray that Namo Amituofo brings you the peace of mind you deserve, no matter what challenges you face in the world."

Cherishing the Present

"I leave these words for you, my dear. Now that I have said them, I can truly let go of all worldly attachments and follow Namo Amituofo wholeheartedly. Since arriving here, I have come to realise that my connection to our family was a karmic one, and all karmic connections must eventually come to an end. Therefore, please cherish the present moment and cherish the people around you. You must also practise the Dharma diligently so that you, too, may have a wonderful destination in the future."

"Yunni, please, chant Buddha's name diligently. I am smiling as I say this to you, and I am waiting for you here in this land of light. With palms joined, Guo Airong. Namo Amituofo."
