This is a record of an interview with Wang Fengshan, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the human realm. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa, on February 24, 2023.
Lay Practitioner Wang Fengshan speaks:
"Oh my! How did it happen that I passed away just because of that illness? Although I had lived to a ripe old age, now that I have departed, my heart still feels a lingering attachment to all of you. It is so hard to let go!
My dear children, how have you all been faring these past few days? I am your mother! I am your aunt! I never imagined that after death, nothing is under one's own control. I had no choice; I could only keep walking forward into the unknown. I did not know where I was going, and I was truly terrified. Fortunately, Practitioner Su saved me. Only then was I able to find my way out, and only now do I have this wonderful opportunity to write this letter to you all.
My sons have always been so filial. Throughout the years of my illness, they were always there to take care of me. Even now, they are the ones I worry about the most. I hope that they will live their lives well in the years to come. However, I know that they do not believe in the Buddha. It was only after I arrived here that I realised the Buddha is truly present in this place. Your mother was saved by the Buddha; you really should come here to see for yourselves. Besides, Hulan is also here now, learning the Buddha's teachings.
Hulan is such a kind-hearted child. So many people around her have been helped by her. Throughout this life, we have also been taken care of by Hulan so much. Auntie truly wants to thank you, Hulan! Seeing that you have found such a wonderful place to spend the rest of your life, I am so happy for you! Thank you for arranging the Chao Du for me. Auntie has now arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, so you do not need to worry about me anymore. You must also practise well and continue to refine your temperament. Do not overthink things, and do not let yourself worry too much. Auntie knows that you still want to help others, but just do your best—that is enough.
Please help Auntie deliver this letter to my family. I want to tell them that Mother is truly in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss now. It is wonderful here, so beautiful, and you must not worry about me. I only hope that you will all come here to practise as well, so that in the future, we can meet again in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, alright?
I will say this much for now. If you have anything else you wish to tell me, come to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia to find me. This place and the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss are connected; we can speak at any time."
