A Journey from Darkness to Eternal Bliss

This is a record of an interview with Lay Practitioner Zou Youhua, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her transition from the ghost realm to the Pure Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on November 26, 2021.

Lay Practitioner Zou Youhua speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Zou Youhua, the aunt of Lay Practitioner Sun Liping. I am filled with such profound gratitude—truly, words cannot express how thankful I am! Here, in this incredibly pure and serene environment, I have been following the footsteps of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su. I have been diligent in my practice, and what I feel in my heart is a sense of peace that I have never, ever experienced before. Liping, my dear niece, thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I am so happy, and my heart feels completely fulfilled. Every day, as I am nurtured by the teachings of the Dharma, my heart remains calm and steady, brimming with a new, vibrant energy. I never, in my wildest dreams, imagined that I could reach such a place. The purity here has allowed me to finally let go of all the burdens of my past. Now, I do nothing but reverently chant the Buddha-name, and my state of mind is truly one with the Pure Land."

Escaping the Shadows of the Ghost Realm

"I am so deeply grateful for this Causal Condition. Before this, I was trapped in the ghost realm, drifting aimlessly, day after day, without any hope of waking up. I was still caught in the space of my past memories, my heart tightly clutching onto all those heavy, painful recollections. I was wandering in a vast, suffocating darkness. It was the Buddha-light that saved me. It was the compassionate voice of Practitioner Su that called out to me, pulling me back from that abyss. Only because of that do I have this brand-new life, this new face, and this new beginning today.

Practice is truly, absolutely vital! I only realised this after experiencing it for myself. Liping, you must tell everyone! You must share with them how wonderful it is to practise in the Pure Land. We humans carry so much in our hearts—too many things, too many worries. We must practise, we must cultivate the mind, and we must learn to truly, honestly let go of everything. None of these worldly matters can be taken with us when we leave. We only have one path, and that is the path to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. You must grasp this opportunity firmly."

A Promise of Reunion in the Western Land

"I know that you, too, cherish this place. You must continue to practise diligently. I, your aunt, can bear witness for you: this place is truly the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Today, I have arrived here, and I am moved beyond words, filled with such immense gratitude. I will be here, waiting for all of you. Everyone must come to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss; we will meet again in the West.

The world is full of illusions—what is true, what is false, what is real, and what is empty. I only hope that the Buddha, in His great compassion, will save more people, helping them to leave suffering behind and return to the Western Land.

Liping, you must follow the Buddha and practise, so that we may all be reborn together in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
