A Father's Message from the Western Pure Land

This is a record of an interview with Mr. Guo Yinglin, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition and his heartfelt message to his family. It was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on January 26, 2020.

Mr. Guo Yinglin speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Guo Yinglin. Happy New Year to everyone! I would like to first offer my New Year's greetings to Practitioner Su and to everyone at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I also extend my warmest wishes to the audience gathered here today on the second day of the Lunar New Year to listen to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks—this includes the many beings that the human eye cannot see. Finally, I must speak to my dearest family—my wife, my son, my daughter, and my sweet grandson, Yihuan—Happy New Year to you all!"

The Truth of Life and Death

"I have not died. It is only my physical body that has passed away. My spirit now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, and it is only from here that I can speak to you all. What a comforting, miraculous thing this is! From here, I can see you all so clearly. Please, listen well to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks; what Practitioner Su speaks is the absolute truth! After I passed away, I did not suffer at all. I was guided by Practitioner Su to the Dharma-Nature Land, which is the only reason I am here in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss today. Thank you, Buddha! Thank you, Practitioner Su!"

A Husband's Gratitude

"Qionghui, you have been the pillar of my life. I am so deeply grateful for your care and devotion to our home and to me throughout the years. After visiting Australia and witnessing the practice of everyone there, and seeing the transformation in our son, I know in my heart that you have found the right path. Practitioner Su is a true practitioner. You will not find anyone else in this world like Practitioner Su—someone you can truly rely on to reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."

Advice to My Children and Grandson

"Yaojia, Naihua, following Practitioner Su’s teachings is the right path! After seeing what happened to your father, you can be absolutely at ease. Yihuan, my sweet grandson, seeing you here today makes your grandfather so happy—truly, so happy! You have grown up so much since I last saw you. You must listen to your mother. There is so much in this world we do not understand; we should only do what is right and refrain from what is not. Listen to Practitioner Su; it will help you in so many ways. Grandfather has not died; I am in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It was Practitioner Su who performed the Chao Du for me and guided me here. This is such a wonderful place, and I am filled with gratitude!"

A Final Word of Comfort

"Do not be afraid of the fainting spells! Grandmother Su will help you. Yes, you can call her Grandmother Su—how intimate and kind that is! Grandmother Su has come to help everyone, including helping the beings that cause you to faint, and sending everyone to be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo."
