This is a record of an interview with Du Zhiliang, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the spirit realm to the Western Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on July 31, 2021.
Du Zhiliang speaks:
". I am Du Zhiliang. I have arrived, and I am kneeling before the Buddha, filled with gratitude for Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su.
I am so deeply grateful to Practitioner Su for leading me to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I never dared to imagine that I could possess the required to reach this magnificent place. Yet, it has truly happened to me. The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is right here before my eyes. I am overwhelmed with gratitude—truly, I am!"
A Message of Peace for My Daughter
"I must also express my profound gratitude to my daughter, Hulan. This is the first time I have ever communicated with her in such a way. Though we cannot see one another face-to-face, I know in my heart that my daughter can sense my presence. I want to tell her that I am safe; your father has arrived in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is all thanks to you, my dear. Without your help, I would never have had the opportunity to reach this place.
I never truly understood the Buddha until Practitioner Su rescued me from the dark realms. After listening to the talks at the Centre for quite some time, I finally realised how compassionate the Buddha is, and I began to understand the true nature of the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss."
The Clarity of the Path
"Once I realised how wonderful the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss truly is, my heart began to yearn for it. At first, my desire was only slight, as I was still clinging to thoughts of all of you. But when I calmed my mind to listen to Practitioner Su’s Dharma talks and participated in the weekly Dharma assemblies, I saw so many other spirits who had suffered for so long, all desperately seeking liberation. That sight woke me up! I told myself: 'Do not dwell on the past anymore. Nothing can be retrieved, and no one can stay by my side forever. I am on my own now, and I must rely solely on the Buddha. Only the Buddha can help me.'
I saw the path clearly—it was the only choice. So, this time, I made a firm resolution to reach the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Practitioner Su, in her great , truly guided me up."
A Father's Final Advice
"Now, I am so joyful. I know I made the right choice. I will never regret this; it is the most correct decision I have ever made in my existence.
My daughter Hulan, you are such a kind and obedient child. You have the blessings to study the Dharma and believe in the Buddha, and I am so happy for you. The path of life is full of ups and downs if one does not study the Dharma. Now that I have listened to so many Dharma talks, I see things clearly. Only by studying the Dharma can life become easier, because the heart will no longer be saddened by these fluctuations. I have come to realise that everything in this world is illusory.
Remember, no matter what others think of your choices, you must believe that you are on the right path. Believing in the Buddha is never wrong. Practise chanting Namo Amituofo diligently, and bring our family along to study the Dharma as well. Everyone, come to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss to reunite with your father. I will be waiting for you all.
