This is a record of an interview with Li Zhong, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his transition from the ghost realm to the Western Land. Recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, on January 7, 2022.
Lay Practitioner Li Zhong speaks:
". I am Li Zhong. Throughout my entire life in the human world, I never once imagined that I would possess the karmic fortune I have today. This world here is so incredibly beautiful—it is the very place that everyone in the world is longing to reach through Chao Du: the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I have entered today, and my heart is filled with such immense, overflowing gratitude. Being able to arrive here is entirely due to the help of my son, Jianping, and his girlfriend, Xiufang."
From the Ghost Realm to the Light
"My life was a busy one, but it only led to me wandering aimlessly in the ghost realm after death. I could not take anything with me; all I carried was this soul, with nowhere to call home. I was lost and adrift. Then, one day, while I was wandering through the streets of the ghost realm, a sudden, brilliant beam of light swept me away. From that moment on, I left behind the dark, gloomy, and miserable days of the ghost realm and entered a place of radiant light. I did not know where I was, only that it was a place where a soul could finally find rest, so I settled down here."
The of Practitioner Su
"Gradually, I came to understand that it was the Causal Conditions between the two of you that led you to find Practitioner Su. Practitioner Su is that very light, and this place is the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. I spent quite a long time here afterwards, living such a peaceful and serene life! There were no demands, no comparisons, and nothing I needed to give—I only received. I was filled with light and warmth. It was a life of pure peace that I had never known before."
A Name That Saved a Soul
"Whenever there is a assembly, the moment I look forward to most is when Practitioner Su calls out the name 'Li Zhong.' That was the name I used in the human world, and now, because of this name, it has connected my son Jianping and Xiufang to me, allowing my lonely, lost soul to be saved. Thank you both! I am truly, deeply grateful! I am even more grateful for the achievements of Practitioner Su and for Namo Amituofo coming into this world. Without Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su, we souls who have passed away would have nowhere to rely on and no way to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This place is truly so beautiful and so bright; it is deeply moving—I am so touched that I cannot even find the words to express it!"
A Message to My Loved Ones
"Jianping and Xiufang, since you have found the Buddha and saved me, you should believe that the world truly has such a beautiful side. At the temple, I learned to chant Namo Amituofo. During those quiet days at the temple, I felt how compassionate and wise this Buddha-name is! I hope that both of you will have this same opportunity; if you chant the Buddha's name diligently, you too can attain this kind of peace. Right now, the Dharma assembly is still ongoing. After Practitioner Su brought us into the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, he quickly returned to the assembly to lead everyone in chanting Namo Amituofo. It is truly exhausting work, yet it is so profoundly meaningful! This is what a true practitioner does. Father says thank you once again, with all my heart, to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su."
