This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Mr. Guan Jun, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects his message to his son, Guan Youming, recorded by the chief writer, Disciple Shi Haize, on March 25, 2019.
Mr. Guan Jun speaks:
". I am Guan Jun. Youming, my son! I know you are a man of strong opinions and a sharp mind. You might be wondering right now: 'Is this really my father speaking?' You are likely listening with a skeptical heart, waiting to see what I have to say. That is perfectly fine. After all, this is not an easy thing to believe. However, as I just said, those who truly believe in their father will be saved!
Everyone loves to make money, and your family has always been supportive of your endeavours. I imagine you never expected that I, your father, would be the one asking you to let go of those pursuits. But think about it—life is not meant to be lived solely for oneself. 'Take from society, and give back to society'—this is something Practitioner Su often mentions during her talks. In the past, I was a selfish man. Even when I did a few good deeds, I would inevitably calculate how much I had put in, hoping to receive the respect and reputation I felt I deserved.
Now, witnessing the selfless dedication of Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, I feel deeply ashamed of my past self, yet I am also profoundly moved. If you were to ask me now, 'Father, if you were not in the fish fry business, what would you do?' My only answer would be to build the Hsiang Kuang Amitabha Village.
Your mother is getting old, and there are several other elderly people around you. The heart needs a place of refuge so that one can live with peace of mind, knowing exactly where one is heading after this life. These words may sound a bit overly sentimental—not like the bold and vigorous Guan Jun you once knew—but they come straight from the depths of my heart. You, too, will grow old one day. If you choose to invest in the construction of the Amitabha Village, I believe you have the capability to make it happen. Saving others is equivalent to saving yourself. You must cast your vision far and aim with precision.
My words to you end here. Do not let them go in one ear and out the other; you must take them to heart. Every sentence you listen to is a gain; every word you heed is a profit. If you listen enough and act enough, you will earn a body free from illness, a spirit that never dies, and eventually, rebirth in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is up to you whether you want to make this investment. This is a unique business opportunity, one that can only be found here—a deal you cannot strike anywhere else in the world.
These are the personal words of your father, Guan Jun.
Namo Amituofo."
