Who is the Master of Your Life?

The Silent Inquiry of the Soul

My children, as you sit here listening to the Dharma, I ask you to look deep within your heart. At this very moment, who is truly listening to these words? Who is the master of your current moment? Where does your true self reside at this very instant? Is it imprisoned in a dark corner of your physical form, or is it trapped within the chambers of your heart, weeping in sorrow? My Buddha-heart cannot bear to see you in this state, and I invite your soul to emerge from its confinement.

The Weight of Wandering Thoughts

Yet, alas, because your soul lacks the strength of meditative concentration, your wandering thoughts never cease. These thoughts disturb others and attract karmic creditors, who in turn bind your soul even more tightly to your physical form. How can a soul in such a state find peace? How can it attain the purity required for liberation? When your body is not governed by your true self, it is instead ruled by the influence of others and the heavy weight of your karma. Under such conditions, how can one speak of achieving true liberation or attaining rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss?

The Sacred Opportunity at Hsiang Kuang

My children, although this world operates within the cycle of impermanence, you are currently blessed to be at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. You have been given a rare opportunity to break free from the struggle of an impermanent destiny. You have the chance to engage in deep purification, to rediscover your true self, and to finally become the master of your own life. You must truly strive for diligent practice. Do not let a single second pass in vain. This is the only way to be a true disciple of the Buddha here at Hsiang Kuang. Namo Amituofo.
