Words of Namo Amituofo:
The term 'whispers' refers to the act of speaking in a low, soft, and gentle voice. In the hearts of some, there are constant whispers that remain unheard or unnoticed by others.
These whispers are, in truth, the fluctuations of the mind. Often, we are unaware of these subtle movements, or perhaps they are simply overshadowed by more powerful, turbulent waves of thought. However, the subtle thoughts and generated by these whispers are recorded within our , becoming a part of our .
They exist in a state of quiet, subtle dormancy. When we are later stirred by external circumstances, this is the manifestation of karma. Therefore, do not underestimate the whispers of the heart. These minute mental fluctuations act as a form of pollution, creating obstacles that hinder the purification of the heart.
For a practitioner seeking to realise their true self, the heart must be clear, bright, and transparent, allowing the light of the true self to manifest. When there is an exchange of emotions or thoughts between two people, these whispers create mental ripples that leave imprints on the heart, eventually ripening into karma. Thus, one must learn to distance oneself from these internal whispers.
Use the , meditative concentration, and wisdom to face these whispers. Let go of the interaction between the Six Roots and —the physical sensations, the sense of touch, and all other subtle feelings. All these are but illusions; once the conditions pass, they vanish. Do not allow them to leave any trace upon your heart.
